At KLOB 2005, I purchased a complete SkyRipper 38mm Hybrid Motor System from Uncle Bob's Rocket Shop. This rocket will be a modular set of boosters and payload bays, allowing for all of the 38mm Skyrippers (and other motors) to be flown.
The SRS 38mm hybrids vary in length from approximately 16in up 36in long, which is somewhat longer than the average APCP motor!
Tentativley, they will all be based around LOC 3inch tubing, possibly glassed, but I may decide to go for either 2.56" airframe or use PML (or similar) phenolic instead.
Initial Simulations are suggesting altitudes in the region of 1500ft on an H up to 5500ft on a J motor, but obviously these are likely to change as the project progresses.
