Following a slight accident whilst painting the QT based PML Amraam 3, which caused the fins to totally delaminate, I decided to rebuild the rocket entirely from phenolic tubing, and convert it to dual deployment. I've never liked QT that much anyway, so it was an easy decision to make. Whilst ordering the parts, I decided to fit a 54mm MMT and make it Hypertek Hybrid compatible.

The booster has been designed only for Hypertek 440cc tank, with anti zipper, although it would accept an AP motor without ejection charge. The only parts used from the original were the nosecone, the upper airframe, one coupler and a replacement set of fins. The original Amraam booster section will eventually be rebuilt, when I get a round tuit.

In effect, this rocket can be classified as a scratchbuilt model from PML parts, that just happens to have borrowed many parts from the AMRAAM kit. I no longer classify this as a Hybrid Amraam.

Rocksim is suggesting that this rocket should go to typically 4900-5300ft with the .076, .098 or .125 inch orifices. I'm not sure whether to believe those figures at the moment.
